Cumin Club

Welcome to Cumin Club, a hidden gem nestled in the heart of Clapham, London. This delightful eatery has quickly gained a reputation for serving some of the finest Indian cuisine in the area, captivating both locals and visitors alike. Located on Hambalt Road, Cumin Club combines warm hospitality with an impressive menu that showcases the vibrant flavors of India.

The star of the show at Cumin Club is the carefully crafted menu that features everything from tantalizing starters to hearty main dishes. Begin your culinary journey with their Vegetable Samosas, folded parcels brimming with a medley of mixed vegetables, served alongside a refreshing mint yogurt dip. For meat lovers, the Sheek Kebab Shahi, made from minced lamb infused with ginger and coriander, offers a delightful experience that resonates with bold flavors.

Among the specialty dishes, the Nagamani Chicken is not for the faint-hearted. Bursting with a fiery heat from scotch bonnet peppers, this traditional Bengali delicacy is an unforgettable treat. If you're looking for something with a touch of sweetness, try the Chicken Tikka Mango, where succulent chicken melds beautifully with fragrant spices and creamy coconut milk.

Cumin Club embraces vegetarian options just as passionately. The Tarka Sag Dal, a medley of lentils and spinach simmered with cumin and garlic, is a must-try. It’s satisfying and rich in flavor, perfectly complementing the extensive array of dishes available. The Aloo Begun Bhaji, featuring aubergines and potatoes in a medium-spiced sauce, highlights the restaurant's ability to create comforting vegetarian dishes that intrigue the palate.

For those craving seafood, the Tandoori King Prawn Jinga Masala—charcoal-grilled king prawns suspended in a delicately spiced masala sauce—is an absolute marvel. Each bite captures the essence of authentic Indian cooking, while the King Prawn Mango presents a delightful combination of tanginess and sweetness.

A meal wouldn’t be complete without the perfect accompaniment. Elevate your experience with their Chilli and Coriander Naan or swiftly refreshing Mint Yogurt. And for dessert, indulge in the rich and creamy Indian Kulfi Ice Cream, the perfect finale to your dining experience.

We have got a takeaway from here a few times now and it has never disappointed. Decently priced, great portion sizes and great quality! Fairly quick delivery too. I have coeliac disease and they were good at advising what was gluten free. Like most Indians, most curries and side dishes are gluten free. This has definitely become our go to takeaway in the area.Vegetarian options: Plenty of vegetarian sides and curriesDietary restrictions: Very knowledgeable on gluten free

A gem of Clapham, serving the best takeaway Indian cuisine. I've been coming here every week for the past - years, during which I've seen chefs come and go, but the friendly management team have remained stalwart. Each chef imparts their own style, the latest seeing Cumin Club enter its finest iteration, with fragrant tricolour pilau, real tandoor-fired naan and consistently rich curry bases. My personal favourite can no longer be found on the menu, but the little-known Shatkora can be made on special request -- a Bengali citrus fruit with a unique flavour unlike any citrus fruits found in the West. Highly recommended.Pictured are the Shatkora (dark) and Murgh (bright) dishes with pilau rice, well-fired garlic naan and a poppadom.

The best Indian food I have tasted in my years and lovely people too. My daughter demands food from the Cumin Club each time she comes home. And as for Rosie's review, it makes no sense to me whatsoever based on my family's tasting of a wide range of dishes from here for the past years and more. I would highly recommend all of you to try. If you do, I suspect you will become a regular and loyal customer for years to come, just like me. As I say, the best food and great value. Jonathan.
